Ok guys, yesterday news hit from consumers that the Metal Gear Solid HD collection doesn’t support Transfarring with Vita for Peace Walker. Peace Walker was just released yesterday so this is pretty short notice. We here at The Mog Blog did a little theory craft and came up with a solution for you people wanting to transfer your saves to your PS Vita. I’m going to go step by step as to how to get your Peace Walker file over to Vita.
Applications Needed: Content Manager Assistant for PC or Mac
- First you need to be aware of where your \PSAVEDATA folder on your PC is located. For example, mine is E:\PS Vita\PSAVEDATA.
- Enter that folder and you should see a jumble of letters and numbers. Mine is [ec28ed7dad199243]. I’ll be using this number for further steps. You number would, and should be different.
- Inside this folder [ec28ed7dad199243], if you have transferred over previous PSP or PS1 save data, you’ll see folders with titles starting with ULUS (PSP) and SLUS (PS1). If the folder is empty, that’s fine.
- On your copy of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD, begin transfarring to a USB stick. This should create a folder ULUS10509001 on your USB.
- Insert your USB to your PC and transfer the folder to your [ec28ed7dad199243] folder inside your \PS VITA\PSAVEDATA folder.
- Now you should be able to bring the file up on your Vita through Content Manager, PC -> Vita. Transfer the file to your PS Vita.
- Exit out Content Manager and load up Metal Gear Peace Walker on your Vita and you should be good to go.
It takes a bit of leg work but it doesn’t seem likely we’ll have a fix for this anytime soon so this is all you got. You can also do it the other way around and transfer the save file to your PC and onto to USB stick to load onto the PS3 version. I’m not entirely sure if there’s a way to output the file directly to the PS3 from Metal Gear HD Collection and unable to check but if so, you can skip a bunch of these steps and transfer the file between PS3-> PS Vita and Vice Versa. That is, if you’re able to load PSP save data through Transfarring already on the PS3′s hard drive. Anyways, have fun. I hope this helped.
