What’s the best way to get excited about a new game? Watching a teaser video that shows pretty much nothing but the iconic logo and hype music!
CD Projekt RED announces The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is “designed to be the crowning achievement from the renowned RPG developers; for the first time will combine mature, nonlinear story with a vast, fully open world.” Nifty. They have also announced that this will be the last and final entry from the studio. How do we know this for sure? Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED, states “”People may ask if this is really going to be the last Witcher game. Yes, it is. Why? Because we believe that we should end the series on a high note.”
Update: Looks like Badowski wasn’t clear in the press release, as he explained to Polish press that this game will conclude the trilogy, but the series will continue.
There will also be no Quick Time Events in this game. Hooray.
Scheduled for sometime in 2014 on “all high-end platforms”, we have to wonder if this will be coming out on the next generation of consoles. With Sony teasing something on February 20th and some rumors (though some debunked) about the next Xbox, we’re edging pretty close to what will be the next generation.
