Capcom is bringing 15 classic arcade games to XBLA and PSN, staggered through February through May starting on February 19th. These classic games are from the Capcom library from 1984-1988 (Which is one year prior to Strider… Why Capcom?) and will feature a plethora of functions that will make use of YouTube, Facebook, and even make things a bit easier for those that can’t handle the retro difficulty.

Fancy features include:

  • Dip switches
  • Music player
  • Screenshot and Video capture
  • Casual Mode to make things easier
  • Online multiplayer
  • Leaderboards
  • Training Mode, which gives you infinite lives to practice the game
  • Japanese and International version switching!
  • PS3 players can upload videos directly to YouTube
  • Xbox 360 players can upload pictures directly to Facebook

These games will be released in packs. Black Tiger, which will be released an individual demo, will be given for free with the stipulation of having only one credit for the 360. The PS3 version of Black Tiger will have unlimited credits, assuming this will strip out the other functions.

The rest of the game packs are as follows:

Game Pack 1: Black Tiger, Avengers, 1943: The Battle of Midway – Feb 19th(PSN)/20th(360)
Game Pack 2: Ghost n Goblins, Gun.Smoke, Section X – March 5th
Game Pack 3: Side Arms, Legendary Wings, Trojan – March 19th
Game Pack 4: Commando, The Speed Rumbler, Exed Exes ) – April 2nd
Game Pack 5: 1942, SonSon, Pirate Ship Higemaru – April 16th

With the exception of the Game Pack 1 for Xbox 360, each game can be individually purchased two weeks after their initial release. Game Pack 1 will be $4.99/400MSP, Game Packs 2-5 will be $9.99/800MSP, each individual game will be sold at $3.99/320MSP. On May 21st, you can purchase all games for $29.99/2000MSP.

Finally, there are two unannounced games which will be given to you for free if you purchase all 15 games. What are they? One better be Strider!
